A STRONG TRADITION OF BROTHERHOOD –
WHY YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED
The need now for fraternity is greater than ever and our active chapter brothers are worthy of our support. Sigma Chi Brotherhood will support the current generation just like it has for us.
Eta Kappa Chapter Alumni have accomplished building a first-class housing facility for our active Sigma Chi Brothers at Missouri State University. Moving forward, mortgage debt and operational costs for this premiere housing facility will require on-going financial support from our alumni.
Our House Corporation has a $2 million mortgage for our new Chapter House. Building costs originally slated for our new house increased by over 30% from the original estimates set in late 2020. As a result, we had to take on more mortgage debt than anticipated. But the project was too important to delay another year, as high building material costs have become the new normal.
While our House Corporation was fortunate to have Arvest Bank provide a competitive interest rate for our Project, this favorable rate will be subject to renewal at prevailing rates in May of 2026. This could represent a substantial operating cost increase for our House Corporation. Getting this $2M debt reduced is a priority for the approaching years.
We listened to what our alumni and active chapter brothers wanted to see in a new chapter house. The design not only provides one of a kind apartment style living for our Sigma Chi residents, but it also features all the amenities necessary as the gathering place for our brothers and guests. The House Corp operates at a break even or slight loss on revenue vs. operational cost basis. We built a first-in-class Chapter House on Kimbrough Ave. that offers apartment living with meeting facilities, catering kitchen, computer lounge and reception area. Operation of the new chapter house will continue to require financial support from our alumni and friends of the Chapter. Please lend your support to help us maintain this premier housing facility to help build a brighter future for Eta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Chi.
